Site Plan of Begovina Complex
Stolac, Herzegovina
The Begovina is a walled complex of dwelling and commercial buildings interspersed with garden plots, and sited on level ground between a wooded slope and the river. The more public areas of the estate are at the southern, entrance end, and the family's private areas to the north. Stone channels brought water from the river into cisterns in each building's courtyard. A bridge connects the estate with the main road on the right (western) bank of the river.
